An Unbonded Portable Generator (neutral & earth unbonded) is an ideal application for the Residual Voltage Technology (RVT) , and when installed with an RCD our RVT provides ‘additional layers of electrical protection’ but without the need of an earth-stake.
The RVT :
- detects the ‘Non dangerous 1st fault condition’,
- ensures that a person cannot become part of the electrical circuit,
- detects an insulation breakdown where either L1 or L2 comes into contact with the equipment frame,
- a voltage rise of 43V will see automatic isolation of any fault condition.
